Trip to "Taste of Manila"

This past Saturday we had the opportunity to go together as a group and experience this event that happens in North York once a year. I am bit embarrassed to say that in the 32 years of my living in Canada, I have not been to the Taste of Manila. So, I went with much anticipation of enjoying this Filipino event with the group, and I know for sure the others also felt the same way.

Our goal for the day was to be able to talk to some vendors and give them a postcard about our mission trip coming up and what it involves. We decided to divide into two groups to achieve this goal.

As we walked around, we saw the vendors busy preparing their booths for the day’s event. So it was not without some hesitation that we approached them. To our surprise and gratefulness, we had a few that were willing and open to have us leave our postcards to be displayed and even think of partnering with us. A testimony of Filipinos being kind-hearted and friendly individuals.

We see how God had worked in this experience especially as he had brought us to talk to different groups of vendors (i.e. food vendors and organizations). What a surprise as we did not plan this out 😊. It was a blessed day indeed and we ended it by sharing a meal together with different Filipino dishes.

We pray that among the different individuals we approached, there will be some who will be drawn to share in this mission of God in the Philippines. We leave the results of this day in the hands of our gracious and loving Father.
